Scene 53 of 130 · ≈ 1 min on screen
Reunited three years after a car crash scattered them into hollow versions of success, four friends stumble into a bachelor-party trip to Goa where making one last short film forces them to confront the heartbreak, cowardice, and unfinished business each of them has been outrunning.
Four friends comfortable in their compromises: an engagement for money, a job that fired him, a dubbing gig, an editing hustle — none of it what nineteen-year-old them wanted.
Reunited at the bar, the four are dared by Shirley's crew to tell the story of the thing that brings them together — the film they've never dared to finish.
Drunk and devastated, Vivek smashes a bottle after a stray dog reminds him of Shruthi and finds no one there.
A drunk Vivek collapses on his mother's rangoli at dawn.
Back in the bar's present, Karthik tells Shirley it was all just accidents from there.
This scene
A timelapse of shots of VIVEK drinking in his room.
He covers any light that falls on his eyes with a pair of wayfarers.
Camera dollies to the view outside the door of his room, shows multiple shots of his mother yelling, threatening him, throwing a plate of food, warning him with a kitchen knife & the door is slammed shut.
There is a sequence of repeated shots of him hitting the ground.
Just half an inch above his wayfarers is a Band aid.
It’s peeling off, he puts it back in place.
