INT. 221B BAKER STREET - SITTING ROOM - NIGHT

Rain against the glass. The fire is low. DR. MORTIMER (30s) has not taken off his coat.

SHERLOCK HOLMES (40s) does not look up from his pipe.

HOLMES

You saw footprints. A man’s or a woman’s?

Mortimer glances at the door, as if the moor might be standing behind it.

He leans in. The fire cracks.

MORTIMER

Mr. Holmes, they were the footprints of a gigantic hound!

For the first time tonight, Holmes puts down his pipe.

Beside the body: the footprints of a gigantic hound.

What made them?

What it touches

Choose one. Until you do, all three stay possibilities, and nothing else in the story moves.

Every screenplay begins with a title page.

Put your name on yours. The fog lifts at dawn. Your story doesn’t.
